The concept of our store, Casa Bonita Home Décor, was first thought of in the year 1998 by Marsha and Jorge Flores. They wanted to unite their admiration for Mexican artwork with their desire to make homes beautiful. What was the result of this? Mexican handcrafted décor. Once their idea was set, they got to work; thrilled to turn their dream into reality.
After many months in Mexico (Jorge’s homeland),visiting picturesque little towns in the states of Oaxaca, Jalisco, Michoacán, and Puebla, the two had finally chosen the unique pieces that would be featured in their earliest store. They started off in a building that was only about 30 x 30 feet in size; but after some time, the demands for more furniture grew, driving them to move their business to the larger and more convenient location where Casa Bonita is located today: on the main street of Stover, Missouri.
Other than Stover being Marsha’s hometown, why did they choose this location for their store? Stover is in the center of Missouri, making it easily accessible from any part of the state. It is also close to the Lake of the Ozarks, where many people go on weekends to enjoy the Midwest lake destination, passing through Stover and unable to resist stopping at Casa Bonita Home Décor to check out its sophisticated and one-of-a-kind selection of Mexican handcrafted décor.
Our second location is in Cabo San Lucas,Mexico, where Marsha and Jorge currently live with their two children: Isabel and Sebastian. This store, in addition to Mexican décor, offers La-Z-Boy furnishings as well as high quality outdoor furniture. Our newest addition to our Cabo location is an espresso bar and boutique. We hope that this helps everyone get to know us better, and we invite you to visit our store in beautiful Stover, Missouri and in sunny Cabo San Lucas. You won’t be disappointed!
